I'm Alex (Lex) van Blommestein- a theatre designer based out of Marquette, MI. I currently teach at Northern Michigan University while maintaining a prolific national and international design career.

I earned my MFA from Wayne State University's Hilberry Repetory Program in Detroit, and  have lived, designed and taught in Edwardsville, IL; St. Louis, MO; Cincinatti, OH; Raleigh, NC; Memphis, TN; Milwaukee, WI; Detroit, MI; Lansing, MI; Windsor, ON; Amsterdam, NL to name a few. As well as scenic design, I like using design to explore audience reaction, interaction and emotion, creating experiences involving virtual reality, augmented reality as well as immersive design.
